Arctic Monkeys; The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala Video
Arctic Monkeys release a new Super 8 vid for the track The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala off of their latest LP, Suck It And See. It features the lads sauntering about the hills and streets of sunny LA, intermingled with clips of a lovely flirtatious gyrating bird in a catsuit and heels. Very rock and roll.

Kurt Vile; Baby's Arms Video
Kurt Vile has released a video for the opening track off of his recently released LP Smoke Ring For My Halo, the acoustic guitar based ballad Baby's Arms. The video tracks a couple urban teens through a day in the life, young and in love. Sigh. Anyways check it out, it's actually quite good.
Jackie-O M*****f****r Record Release Party @ the Hollywood Theatre 7/7
Portland's own psychedelic alchemists Jackie-O M*****f****r released their latest LP, Earth Sound System yesterday via Fire Records. As the press release states;
"You never quite know what you’re going to get from J.O.M.F.. Are you going to be in for some deep brain thrombosis space rock? Are they going to prescribe you a dose of some heavily medicated camp fire drone? Will they be hitting you with some improvisational and angular free jazz? Will they be traversing the entire planet to bring you some previously unexplored global frequencies?" So put that in your preferred smoke delivery system and smoke it.
What we have heard so far is quite fantastic. From the lazy VU'esque drone of the track we shared yesterday on our New Releases 7/5 post, In The Willows (which you can check out below), to the atonal fuzzed out discord of Where We Go, they deliver a unique sonic experience.
The band will celebrate the release of the record with a special Record Release Show at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland this Thursday, July 7th. Richard Bishop and a few special guests will also grace the stage.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Noel Gallagher unveiled details of his new solo project, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds today in a press conference at London's Electric Cinema."There are echoes of Oasis, but there's no guitar solo until the sixth song" Noel says. In typically restrained and elegant prose, younger brother Liam responded on Twitter with just one word, "Shitbag", well under 140 characters, nicely done. The self titled debut album is scheduled to hit shelves 10/17. Check out the tracklist below.

02 “Dream On”
03 “If I Had A Gun…”

Fanzine; Low
London's Fanzine are the newest band of Brits to ride the American lo-fi indie slacker rock (circa 1992) wave into 2011. We are not saying that like it's a bad thing. Truth of the matter is we welcome the 90's revival with open arms and a sense of hazily baked nostalgia. Check out the title track from their recently released EP, Low.
