The Spires; Clock Out The Clocks

Back in September we shared a track from SoCal indie pop veterans, The Spires. The track, entitled Waves, quickly became one of our favorite songs of 2011. Yesterday they unveiled a shiny new tune on their BANDCAMP page, from their upcoming LP Forever City Chorus, set to drop December 20th. This is Clock Out The Clocks.

Radiation City; Babies

Portland dream poppers, Radiation City, have recently released a lovely new smoldering single entitled, Babies. The band have just wrapped up recording their second album, scheduled for release early next year, and are heading out on a two week west coast tour.

Mikal Cronin; Am I Wrong

Just a couple of days ago we shared the new single from Mikal Cronin, You Gotta Have Someone. Today we have the newest new single, Am I Wrong. This one is his contribution to a split 7" with King Kahn and The Shrines, that is scheduled for release on February 10th.

I guess today is the day that the labels roll out their Best Of 2011 samplers. Here we have 4AD's A Year In Sound, featuring tracks from Atlas Sound, The Big Pink, Bon Iver, and many more 4AD artists. Check it.

Spiritualized Announces New Album Details

Pretty phased to hear that Spriritualized have announced details on their new album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light. The album was recorded over the last couple of years in Wales, LA, and Reykjavik, and is scheduled for release March 19th, 2012. You can watch them perform two new tracks, Hey Jane and So Long You Pretty Things at Other Voices festival via THE GUARDIAN UK. Check out the tracklist and Euopean tour dates below, and stay tuned for additional info.

Up here in the Pacific Northwest there is a chill in the air, the rain has descended, and winter is still yet to officially start. We could use any bit of sunshine we can get. Well here's a little bit of audio vitamin D from Summer Twins, in the form of their track I Don't Care, from their self titled album due for release here in the states next month.

The unfortunate implosion of Baltimore MD's Double Dagger earlier this year, freed up drummer Denny Bowen to start up a new project. Roomrunner, recently released their debut eponymous cassette on Fan Death, and are scheduled to release a 7" in Spring of 2012. Here is a crunchy track from said cassette, this is Spinning.

'Tis the season of the "hey-we-hear-this-is-cool-again-so-let's-sell-this-box-set-for-$200-a-pop" re-issues, the live at the "insert-venue-with-indie-cred-here" albums, and everyone's favorite, the ubiquitous iTunes sessions, so the new music list is a little light again this week. We don't begrudge folks making a buck, more power to ya, just sayin'. Still some nice new albums out, here is what is on our radar.

It's from Rolling Stone, so you'll have to wait until the advert plays.
