This one takes us back to 1992, and an album which was released 20 years ago today, 4/20, and the debut LP from California indie rock legends, Pavement's Slanted and Enchanted. Chicago garage rock and roll club, The Empty Bottle, have teemed up with local Windy City recording engineer/musican, Shimby, for a compilation album of bands who have preformed live in their humble environs. Shimby Presents; LIVE at The Empty Bottle is made of 14 live tracks from such garage and noise pop luminaries as Davila 666, The Strange Boys, Ty Segall, Best Coast, The Fresh & Onlys, and many more, in their natural habitat, loud and raw. Pond; You Broke My Cool Video



Aussie psych sensation, Pond, have a new video for a cut from their super rad debut LP, Beard Wives Denim, now available on Modular. You Broke My Cool, follows the band through the Perth countryside, during the recording of the aforementioned album, and showcases why it doesn't suck to be them right about now. Their cool still seems intact to us. Check it out.
